Michael Šrámek
I have been a physician since 1988. I initially started working at the cardiology department at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC for four years. In 1993 I obtained my PhD in telephone triage of cardiac emergency calls. After 2 years of working in neurosurgery and intensive care medicine, I decided to train as an anesthesiologist. During my training, I was part of a medical helicopter team in Amsterdam until 2006 as an operational medical coordinator. I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2005.
I specifically chose to continue my career at the NKI because the institute is a middle ground between a large academic medical center and a peripheral hospital. I can provide anesthesia during major and complex surgeries here.
