I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2014. I started as an oncology nurse at several different departments at the hospital. After obtaining my diploma, I started working at the outpatient clinic where I started as a thoracic oncology nurse practitioner (in training) in July 2018. A lot of research is being done at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Many lung cancer treatment options are currently being researched. I love being able to experience all these developments up close.
Nurse practitioners support our patients during their treatment. We are the point of contact for our patients and their relatives. It is vital that everybody gets the support they need. We closely collaborate as a team and have one common goal: the best possible care for our patients.
