Sandra Veldstra

I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a nurse practitioner in training in the gynecology department since 2022. Before that, I worked as a district nurse and a (research) nurse. At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, we provide the best treatment and keep the consequences of the treatment—the quality of life—central to our approach as well. Together with the patient and the entire team, we look at what treatment is the best option and what is needed to obtain that. 

As a nurse practitioner, you bridge the cab between nursing and medical specialism. You are the main person of contact who provides the best possible support to patients and their loved ones before, during, and after treatment.
