Martine van Huizum

I trained to be a plastic surgeon at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. Not too long after, I started working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Plastic surgeons here perform reconstructive surgeries for patients who had oncological or preventive procedures done by other specialists at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.

We offer primary reconstructive surgeries (directly after surgery by the surgical oncologist) or secondary (after recovery from the oncological procedure. We try to find the best balance between a speedy recovery and the best quality of life afterwards. We also treat patients requiring non-oncological care outside of the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
