Small cell lung carcinoma

Approximately 15% of all lung cancers are small cell lung carcinoma. In small cell lung carcinoma, the tumor cells are much smaller than the regular cells in the lungs, and they divide rapidly. Small cell lung cancer is often already metastatic once symptoms arise.
