Governance costs
In accordance with Good governance in the care sector (2017), the Netherlands Cancer Institute uses (public) resources for health care responsibly and has all its expenses available for audit. All expenses made by the Board of Directors that are covered by the Netherlands Cancer Institute are made public. These costs include expenses they make in order to do their work.
Every year, we publish the aforementioned expenses made on behalf of the function of our Board of Directors on our website. These expenses include literature costs, daily newspapers, accommodation during business trips abroad, receiving guests, and a part of travel expenses.
In addition to their salary, the members of our Board of Directors receive a monthly gross reimbursement of € 694.83, amounting to € 8,337.96 a year. These indemnities have been unchanged for many years due to the WNT legislation.
