Physical examination of the breast

What is a physical examination of the breast?

After your intake consultation, your physician will want to examine your breast in order to inspect your tumor or abnormality. Your physician or clinical nurse specialist will view and touch the breasts and potential swollen lymph nodes in the armpits or neck. 

Further diagnostic testing is required for a final diagnosis, and to determine the size, stage, and location of the tumor.
