Thyroid scintigraphy

What is thyroid scintigraphy?

A thyroid scintigraphy is a procedure that examines the way the thyroid works by using a gamma camera. We will administer a small dose of radioactive substance into your bloodstream through IV. Your thyroid will absorb this substance within about 15 minutes. Then we can use the camera for imaging to better understand your thyroid function.
