3D map of the liver on an iPad at the operating room

The liver is a large organ on the right of the abdomen. Its complex anatomy makes it hard to operate on. Prior to every liver surgery at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, we make a 3D map of the liver in which all vital structures, including liver tumors, are visible. This map can be viewed by the surgeons on a sterile iPad. This system is truly unique and allows for an optimal anatomic overview during the procedure.
