Tom Leuverink

I have been working as an anesthesiologist-intensivist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2018. 

As an anesthesiologist, I am responsible for the care surrounding a surgical procedure together with my colleagues, as well as the pain treatment after surgery. I also work as an intensivist. Some patients need intensive care after their surgery or procedure. These patients are brought into the intensive care department where an intensivist is responsible for their care. My profession is special because I can really mean a lot to people during these drastic, tense times in their lives.

The Netherlands Cancer Institute allows me to combine both specializations in a small setting, delivering a highly complex and groundbreaking level of care.
