Anne van Schijndel
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a cardiologist and intensivist since 2020. I aim to prevent damage to the heart during cancer treatment as much as possible. I also guide people with diagnosed heart problems through their cancer treatment to keep the risk of additional complications low.
Very ill patients and people who underwent invasive treatment come to the Intensive Care Unit. We need to closely monitor their hearts, which calls for teamwork and collaborations between various specialties. These collaborations and attaining great results motivate me in my work.
