I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since April 2015, where I have been training as a clinical molecular biologist since 2018. I concern myself with a large variety of tumor types every day. Molecular diagnostics determines the genetic characteristics of tumors (such as DNA mutations) that may affect the diagnosis or the most suitable treatment. Molecular diagnostics is a very important field that is in constant development. My Collaborations with the medical specialists ensures that we can offer our patients the best possible treatment plan. Besides my work in diagnostics, I am involved in clinical trials testing new biomarkers or molecular techniques in routine molecular diagnostics. The specialized patient care that continues to be further improved through our many clinical trials makes the Netherlands Cancer Institute unique to me.
