I have been working as a dermatologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2012. The skin conditions we treat at this hospital differ from those seen in other hospitals. I see many patients with melanoma and other types of skin cancer, and patients experiencing skin-related side effects during chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
Skin conditions are often visible in the face, which is why we always look for a treatment option that will give us the best combination of recovery and cosmetic results. I speak out about responsible sun exposure every day because this is vital in skin cancer prevention. Complete avoidance of the sun will usually not be necessary.
