Monique van Leerdam
After working at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam for several years, I came to the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2011. Caring for cancer patients is often complex, which is why a foolproof collaboration between all the different specialties is crucial.
At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, I treat patients with (benign precancerous) gastrointestinal tumors as part of a multidisciplinary team. In terms of research, I specialize in hereditary gastrointestinal tumors, colon cancer, and the early detection of tumors. If cancer is detected at an early stage, the results of the treatment are often significantly better.
