Hans Trum
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc, hospitals involved in the Centre for Gynecologic Oncology Amsterdam (CGOA; Centrum voor Gynaecologische Oncologie Amsterdam). I am primarily involved in minimally invasive surgeries: big operations through tiny holes.
Efficacy is central to the development of this laparoscopic surgery. The procedure needs to be less taxing but just as effective as open surgery. Recovery from keyhole surgery is faster, and the patient's quality of life after surgery is significantly better. Our multidisciplinary approach and participation in active research ensure that the care we deliver is personalized and high-quality.
