Joeri Douma
I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) as a medical oncologist since April 2020. I mainly work at the pharmacology/phase 1 departments, as well as the gastrointestinal department. As a medical oncologist, I treat patients with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy.
At the NKI we have a close and pleasant collaboration between surgeons, radiation therapist, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, and medical oncologists. This allows us to give every patient a personalized treatment, because patients with cancer are central to the NKI. We also conduct a lot of experimental research to further optimize cancer treatment.
