I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a medical geneticist at the Hereditary Cancer Clinic since 2017. I see people who have questions about the hereditary nature of cancer in themselves or a family member at my consultation. it is important to me to provide sufficient information about and guide people through these genetic tests so they can make informed decisions. I discuss whether people really want to know whether they have a hereditary susceptibility. The results of the DNA tests may be of importance to the patient's treatment.
