I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute since 2009. My focus area is the optimal use of several different scans (CT, MRI, PET) that patients undergo. Based on these scans, we determine the location of the most aggressive cancer cells together with the physicians, so we can focus our radiation on this area. I often collaborate with physicians, laboratory technicians, and researchers to make radiation treatment more effective: better radiation to the tumor with less bothersome side effects. I also am responsible for the maintenance of our radiation equipment. The variety I find in my work and the contributions I can make to the improvement of patient care keep me highly motivated.
