Cancer is a terrible thing. It does not only affect you as a patient, but also your family and other loved ones. Besides the physical symptoms, you may experience mental or social problems that throw you off balance. Psychosocial support can help you alleviate these issues so you and your loved ones can learn to manage the illness so you can focus on your quality of life.
Since 2019 I have been part of the medical social work team. It is important to me to give patients space for their concerns about the future, uncertainties, doubts, fatigue, pain, questions regarding sexuality and intimacy, mourning, sadness, fear, and anger while not losing focus of what could help you, and what is going well. We try to find out how we can expand that flexibility, so you ad your loved ones can move on.
