Anne Miek Koenen
I started working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 1997. I started as an oncology nurse and then worked as a nurse practitioner in pharmacology. I started working as a nurse practitioner in melanoma surgery and the sarcoma group at the beginning of 2014. Together with a multidisciplinary team, we ensure that patients with melanomas or sarcomas are treated properly and correctly. I am their contact person and coordinate their care and try to guide them through their treatment to the best of my ability. I also guide patients participating in trials as a medic and a nurse and observe their side effects, among other things. I make sure that all study procedures run smoothly and that all research findings are collected properly.
It is extraordinary to work here. At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, we all share a common goal: offering our patients the best care possible.
