I started working as a nurse practitioner in the field of breast cancer in 2009, initially at MC Zuiderzee in Lelystad, after which I came to the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2016.
The field of breast cancer is fascinating to me because of the constant developments in research. There is so much we don't know about the development and treatment of breast cancer, although the current innovations are coming in at a rapid pace. A lot of research is conducted at the NKI, which allows us to stay ahead of the guidelines: our treatments are truly personalized. All this makes working at the NKI truly inspiring and challenging.
