Hester van Boven
After my training as a clinical pathologist, I started working at the Pathology department in 2002. I specialize in tumor pathology in the sexual organs, kidneys, urinary tract, and soft tissue.
I analyze the tumor cell characteristics with my microscope with great passion, and use molecular techniques to find out whether - and of so, which - genes determine tumor cell growth together with molecular biologists. Together with a large team, I can come up with a diagnosis and a prediction of the progression of the illness. We come up with treatment options for our patients and contribute to scientific cancer research.
