Before coming to the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2002, I spent several years at the Daniƫl den Hoed hospital in Rotterdam. During those years I received a scholarship from the Queen Wilhelmina Fund to spend 2 years abroad to gain experience in cancer centers. In 2002 I was offered the opportunity to bring these experiences to the patients at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
As a team of lung specialists, we try to keep track of the latest developments in cancer research across the globe and make these available for our patients, to ensure that all patients coming in with lung cancer, pleural cancer (mesothelioma), or thymus cancer (thymoma) receive the best possible treatment.
