I have been working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute with great pleasure since 2005. The work culture and atmosphere at the hospital and the multidisciplinary approach without losing sight of the patients suit me well. I treat all types of lung cancers, although my primary interests are the treatment of malignant mesothelioma (cancer caused by inhaling asbestos) and neuroendocrine tumors in the lungs, also known as carcinoid tumors. All these tumors are quite rare.
Treating all these illnesses in one location is beneficial for everybody: patients receive the most innovative treatment and we can continue to conduct research into ways to improve our treatment options. I am happy to do my part.
