Monique Bloemers
I started working at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in 2001, first as a radiation oncologist in training, then as a member of staff. I specialize in the treatment of gynecological tumors.
We work in a multidisciplinary team that consists of gynecologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and clinical nurse specialists. I aim to further improve the precision of our radiation treatments in order to avoid toxicity to the surrounding tissue, which allows us to deliver a higher dose to the tumor. We combine our work in patient care with clinical research. Our findings have allowed us to deliver a plan of the day to cervical cancer patients.
